Recently, TSG developed technology allowing for the generation and application of cast foam onto the widest variety of textiles in the industry. This development is really a convergence of several smaller breakthroughs developed in response to specific customer projects.

Recently, TSG developed technology allowing for the generation and application of cast foam onto the widest variety of textiles in the industry. This development is really a convergence of several smaller breakthroughs developed in response to specific customer projects, including:

1. Web handling: Through the minimal use of tension and guiding, TSG can gently handle all types of textiles, from rigid to stretchy, and deliver them flatly and evenly to the foam coater. TSG uses the same technology to allow for tubing and crushing (if necessary) after treatment.

2. Cast foam can be applied to large variety of media including:

  • Hydroentangled, spunbond, meltblown, air-laid, wet-laid, etc.
  • Stretchy flat knits
  • Wovens

3. TSG’s in-house compounding allows for custom formulation and blending. Attributes like FR, acoustic absorption and others can be built into the foam and applied evenly across the web to a specified thickness level.

4. Excellent control over resiliency and rebound as well as stiffness, making this product versatile for many applications.

Cast foam coatings have the ability to turn standard textiles into “active” textiles that can provide the above properties for flooring underlayment, acoustic drapery and panels and even medical wraps, to name a few.
