Stefan Schlichter Ph.D. and Matthias Froning

Stefan Schlichter, Ph.D., is managing director of the Institut für Textiltechnik Augsburg, part of the ITA group based around the Institut für Textiltechnik of RWTH Aachen University. He has a degree in mechanical engineering specializing in textile machinery and a doctorate in mechanical engineering from RWTH Aachen University. He is a board member of numerous scientific and industrial associations in the field of textile research, serving for several years as chairman of the VDMA Forum Composites and on the board of Composites Germany. Matthias Froning is a researcher at ITA Augsburg, where his main task is to carry out research on the processing of recycled high-performance fibers; he is also a student supervisor at the University of Augsburg. He studied mechanical engineering, gaining a BSc at the University of Siegen and an MSc at the Technical University Munich.
